The goal is to build a <strong>research ecosystem<\/strong> that combines tight experimental control with strong ecological validity to study human behaviour and social interaction in both real and digital contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What this grant funds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Open Science &amp; FAIR infrastructure<\/strong><br>Upgrades to departmental infrastructure to support FAIR data and accelerate research on behavioural and psychophysiological correlates of real\/virtual interpersonal relationships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BiHOME laboratory<\/strong><br>A large, multi-functional space for studying behaviour and relationships in realistic, presence-rich environments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BiConnect platform<\/strong><br>A digital platform for creating controlled, richly detailed <strong>multi-user social environments<\/strong>, enabling interaction studies with participants inside and outside the university.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why it matters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>PsyFuture creates, for the first time in Italy, an integrated pipeline to study social behaviour end-to-end\u2014from high-control experiments to lifelike real and virtual settings\u2014so results are both rigorous and relevant beyond the lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">BiConnect\u2019s role<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BiConnect was initially launched thanks to this grant.<\/strong> With PsyFuture support, BiConnect develops and maintains a platform to design, run, and analyze multi-participant human-AI studies in realistic social scenarios (e.g., collaboration, conflict, persuasion) that span <strong>in-lab<\/strong>, <strong>remote<\/strong>, and <strong>hybrid<\/strong> setups.
