Sabrina Patania
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Psychology at the University of Milan-Bicocca. My academic path began with a BA in Philosophy, where I developed a lasting interest in epistemology, and continued with an MSc and PhD in Computer Science, where I worked on probabilistic and computational models of human perception. I have studied attentional mechanisms and affective processes, particularly within biopsychosocial models of pain, and I am currently investigating large language models, focusing on their learning strategies, the structuring of knowledge, and the biases that emerge when dealing with marginalised categories.
My broader interest lies in learning as a transversal phenomenon: how knowledge is acquired, represented, and transformed in both humans and machines. This perspective is informed by my experience as a qualified secondary school teacher and by my engagement with constructivist psychology, which now extends into the study of pedagogical strategies in LLMs.
